TRIP OVERVIEW

Machame Route is an excellent route. It is scenic and well designed. Specifically, this means that the camps are at a slightly lower altitude than the day’s climb. This makes acclimatization easier. Lemosho Route merges with Machame Route partway into the climb. Machame Route is the most popular camping route on Mt Kilimanjaro. Following the climb descent there’s opportunities to go into a 3-day safari to explore the best of Tanzania parks Lake Manyara park, Ngorongoro crater and Tarangire park, each with their own uniqueness of flora and fauna.

Lake Manyara National Park is a favorite destination for bird watchers and you will possibly see tree climbing lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, baboons, and pink flamingos.

The second day takes us to World Heritage Sight – Ngorongoro Crater. Within a few hours, with a little luck, it is possible to spot all of the “Big 5”. The animals are not very shy here and it is often possible to get up close.

We then finish the safari with Tarangire National Park where the Tarangire River, the only water source in the area during dry season (August – October), winds its way through the park. This park is a wonderful destination that is underrated.
